It's Valentine's Day!
We love to have fun making "hearts" all day long, out of just about everything! Here is a quick, inexpensive and adorable project you can do with your child on a small or large scale. They make great gifts too for their "special" Valentines.
We had so much fun making these, that we made a batch for the Kindergarten class to paint on Valentine's Day.
Here is the "super simple" recipe:
Mix together:
1 cup salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
Directions:
1) Knead mixture until a dough forms.
2) Flour your table surface and roll out the dough with a rolling pin.
3) Use a (heart shaped) cookie cutter and cut your "hearts" (* my dough made 25 hearts!) *I used a regular drinking straw to make a hole in each heart for stringing.
4) Place "hearts" onto a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degress for 2 hours.
5) Paint with acrylic paints and enjoy!
